National Office Update

Dear RDA UK volunteers and staff,

I hope you are all well and keeping warm. Anyone else starting to get that festive feeling?

 

Job Opportunity: Director of Operations.

We are sad to announce that Anna Hall will be leaving RDA and we wish her all the best of luck in her next role as Chief Executive of the Hurlingham Polo Association. As a result of this, her position is soon to be vacant. The job role is ‘to oversee and plan the delivery of all RDA core activities and services, in line with annually agreed targets to actively support the development and delivery of RDA’s new strategy to increase its capacity and support more disabled people’.

The role of the occupational therapist (Tues 23rd7:30pm)

Hosted by Rhona Harkness (Occupational Therapist) & Kate El Bizanti (RDA Green Coach & Occupational Therapist) Introducing you to the Occupational Therapy role in Equine Facilitated Therapy & Learning using theory & case examples. It will explore how EFOT-UK & RDA groups can work in collaboration.

Georgia Wilson (Tues 30th 7:30pm)

Georgia made her Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020, achieving a bronze medal in the individual test grade II. Georgia started riding at RDA at Clwyd SRC, attending her first RDA nationals where she got the bug for dressage.

 

British Dressage Medal of Honour for Waveney Luke

RDA Honorary Life Vice President, Waveney Luke, has received a Medal of Honour from British Dressage in honour of all her work in para dressage. She was a successful trainer for para riders up to international level and was very influential in Britain’s para riding success as part of the selection panel for the Paralympics at London and Rio. She has been involved with Garsington RDA for a long time and was the RDA County Coach for Oxfordshire.

We would like to wish Waveney our congratulations for this prestigious and well-deserved honour.

MIND Regional Hubs

MIND have set up 8 Regional Networks to bring together organisations from across the sport, physical activity and mental health sectors. The Regional Networks work at a local to regional level to increase the number of groups who are equipped with the skills to support and engage people in physical activity.
